How much is a shoot with you?
My mission is to give every client a customized, glamorous, and ego boosting experience. My sessions (photoshoot, hair, makeup) and product (albums, digitals, wall art, etc) are purchased separately so that you may choose exactly what you would like to purchase. Sessions start at $375 and most of our clients choose to purchase an album and wall art at their viewing session. You can contact me for a full pricing menu.
I definitely want to do this, how do I reserve my spot? How far in advance do I need to book? What if I need to reschedule?
Your session fee secures you a date on the calendar reserved for you. Once we select a date and time for your shoot, you will be required to send your signed session agreement and 50% of the session fee within 48 hours. Your date is not reserved until BOTH are completed. The retainer is non-refundable. If you must reschedule, you need to contact me 7 days prior to your scheduled shoot, otherwise you will forfeit the retainer. As long as there is 7 days notice, your session fee can be applied to another date within 30 days of your original shoot. If you cancel or are a “no show'“ for your session, I will not reschedule you. If you've reserved on a gift certificate, there is a fee of $250 to reschedule your session. I understand that things come up, but if you reserved a shoot, it takes a date off of my calendar for someone else. In addition, I book hair and makeup for you, so the artist loses the day as well. I suggest booking your shoot 3-6 months before you need your finished product and sooner if we’re in holiday mode. If you decide last minute that you absolutely want to shoot with me, contact me and I can try to accommodate you.
Do I have to be a model or have experience to work with you? What if I don’t know how to pose or “be sexy” ?
Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, most of the ladies that I work with have never done a shoot or have any modeling experience whatsoever. I don’t expect you to know what you are doing! Everyone is new at this, so I will walk you through the entire process. All of my “models” are just like you… women that are just looking to boost their self esteem, feel glamorous, or to create an unforgettable gift for their significant other. I do suggest that you practice some facial expressions in the mirror before your shoot. You’ll feel silly, but definitely try the “smile with your eyes” in a mirror! During your shoot, I will direct you the entire time. Don’t stress! It’s a lot easier than you think!
I’ve got stretch marks/ acne/ a couple extra pounds/ a tattoo that I regret. Do you offer airbrushing? Absolutely! Every photo that you purchase is airbrushed so that your final product is pretty much perfect. We all have our trouble spots or perceived imperfections, but those things can be retouched. That being said, I still encourage you to be realistic and also choose wardrobe that is flattering to your body type. I won’t retouch your photos to the point where you are unrecognizable.
Where do you shoot? Is it private?
I shoot most of my sessions in my private studio in the Charleston area. My studio set up provides beautiful natural light and awesome hardwood floors which work with almost any style. Myself and the make artist will be the only ones present during your shoot. If you have a cool location, hotel room, etc. we will often travel for an additional fee.
Do I have to bring my own outfits?
I definitely suggest that you bring some of your favorite pieces from your own wardrobe to mix with the things I have in the studio. Your favorite pieces of lingerie (of course), jeans and a sexy top, dresses, pretty slips, cozy sweaters as well as some lingerie basics like strapless bra and nude thong. Your outfits don’t need to be extravagant, a simple bra and panty set is perfect! In addition, shoes and accessories can add an extra edge to your images. We do have some wardrobe items, accessories and shoes for your use, but again, having things of your own is necessary. It also gives me an idea of your personality and the look that you want your images to convey, both make a difference in the finished product. Upon booking, I will also send you a detailed email with inspiration and places to shop!
Can I do my own makeup for the shoot?
Make up for photography is extremely different from makeup for everyday or even a night out. Even “natural” makeup requires a lot of skill and expertise to apply. Having your makeup done with my awesome hair and makeup gal contributes to the overall look and feel of the finished photograph and is absolutely necessary for your shoot. You can contact my makeup and hair gal at any time to discuss particulars and are free to bring pictures from social media or pinterest for ideas. The petite session fee includes 1 airbrush makeup look, hairstyling, and false eyelashes, the Luxe includes 2. If you want a little more variety in your makeup and hair, you can opt to add a makeup and hair change to your session for $50. We can create almost anything you can dream up, from natural to all out glamorous!
Should I go tanning? This one is an important one. I’m a huge fan of natural creamy skin, it photographs beautifully! If you use a tanning bed, please stop tanning at least one week before you shoot. Not only is using tanning beds dangerous, (I will spare you the lecture), they make your skin look extremely red on camera. This is difficult to correct. So please, please, please don’t go tanning before your shoot! If you feel that your skin need a little color, then I suggest getting a light spray tan a day or two before your shoot, but careful with your hands and feet! A word about tan lines.. These are ridiculously difficult to retouch so please, do whatever you need to do to avoid them unless you don't mind them in your photos. There will be an additional editing fee for super dark tan lines.
Can I bring my boyfriend/ husband/ kids to my shoot/ viewing session?
Nope. Having an all female staff is part of what makes shooting with us special. You can definitely bring a female friend with you to your session or viewing if you feel you need some moral support or help choosing photos. Just make sure she’s supportive and fun. Also note, that she will not be able to be in the room or take additional photos of you while we are shooting.
Can I have a cocktail to loosen up?
I definitely prefer you didn’t. I don’t allow alcohol in the studio for 2 reasons. First, you will most likely look a little glassy eyed and sloppy in your photos and second, for liability reasons. The idea of someone being intoxicated and being photographed in an intimate way are just a bad combination.
What’s a viewing session? When do I get to see my proofs?
After your session, we will choose a date and time, usually within 7-14 days to review your photos and choose what you would like to order. (We can sometimes accommodate a same day or zoom ordering appt if you are traveling from out of town.) These sessions take about 45-60 minutes. Once you place your order, it generally takes 4-6 weeks to receive your finished product. If you need them sooner than my standard turn around, you are subject to a “rush fee.”
What if I don’t want my pictures to appear on your website or marketing materials?
No problem. A lot of women are so thrilled with the outcome that they are proud to have their images displayed. However, there are also a lot of clients that don’t want their co-workers and families to see them, or simply want to keep their experience private. This is not an issue, your privacy is extremely important to me! In order for me to display your images, you have to sign a consent form. If you don’t sign it, they can’t be displayed.
I had a blast at my shoot and want my friend/ mom/ sister to experience a session. Do you have gift cards? Yes! We have gift cards available in any denomination or shoot package. These are perfect for a gal that has been considering treating herself to a shoot, and even for a bridal or baby shower gift! Make sure the recipient contacts me asap to reserve her date. *Please note that gift card purchases are not refundable and expire 1 year from date of purchase.
