Fabulous Accessories for your Boudoir Shoot

I am always on the hunt for fun, new props and accessories for our clients to during their boudoir shoot. In the last few weeks we’ve picked up a few gorgeous vintage hats, an awesome pink loveseat, a black lace mask, and a few great pieces of jewelry (photos coming soon). Etsy is a great place to find some beautiful things that can spice up your shoot and make it unique. And, there are a ton of websites with gorgeous lingerie, but one of my favorites is FaireFrouFrou . Take a peek at some of the goodies I’ve had my eye on.

Come on Spring… I’m ready!
I know we are all patiently waiting for warmer weather to show up, so in the meantime, why not show your show spring on your face. I absolutely adore SMASHBOX’S new spring time palette “IN BLOOM.” I bought it and injected my whole life with a new look. I love smoky eye, dark colors, and red lips as much as the next girl, but I felt that I needed a light and fresh look for my makeup. This palette comes with 10 soft and pretty shades with a hint of shimmer that mimic some of mother nature’s beautiful spring colors. Glamour Bitch at Shecky’s Girls Night Out

We are super excited to announce that Glamour Bitch Photography will be a participating vendor at this year’s Spring Shecky’s Event at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker building! My assistant Kristen attended a “GNO” (Girls Night Out) event a few years back and thought that this event would be a great way to meet and connect with all of you girls. After a bit of research and checking out their website, I couldn’t agree more. The whole premise is about getting together with all your best girlfriends and sipping on delicious cocktails, getting the scoop on all the greatest beauty products, and browsing unique clothing boutiques. We are so thrilled with the idea of getting to meet hundreds of girls of all ages, races, shapes and sizes, and to be a part of such a great female bonding experience. Our booth will feature raffles for both Victoria’s Secret gift cards as well as Glamour Bitch gift certificates. We will be attending both nights, March 15th and 16th from 5-10pm. Snow Day

Please note: There are 67 more days until Spring is here, which for me is 66 days too many. Today I worked in my pajamas and drank coffee until it was almost dark out, which these days is 4:30pm. During one of my totally ADD moments, I found myself browsing cute swimsuits from the new VS catalog. I adore all of the retro styling and fun details this season and YAY, one pieces are sexy again! I will be daydreaming of my next vacation for the rest of the night and hitting the gym so that I am ready to wear a new bikini in 6 months. Till then, wear one for your photo shoot with us ;)

But then again… what girl isn’t?? One of my super stylish clients arrived to one of our Chelsea Hotel boudoir marathons with these babies and I almost died! 2 hours later, I was on Zappos.com ordering my own pair of Steve Madden Caryssa, size 8. I gotta say, I don’t get out much, but when I do I love rocking some super high heels. Believe it or not, these are actually comfortable and go with everything!! Love them :)

Finally found the best spray tan ever!

I have gotten a lot of questions about the best way to handle tan lines or pale pasty skin in preparing for a shoot! I am happy to say that I have FINALLY found the BEST spray tan ever! Ever since I learned about how horrible tanning beds are for your skin, I have been experimenting with self tanners trying to find something that would make my pale skin a fabulous shade of bronze. Most of the time I have been spray tanned or applied tanner myself, I ended up a smelly, streaky, orange mess. Who wants to deal with that before a photo shoot?!

Soooo… after a rave review from a friend of mine, I knew I had to give it a shot. I made an appointment with Kathy at Forever Bronze in Cherry Hill. I had a wonderful experience without streaks or that icky smell, and got a tan that lasted 7 days. I have been seeing her once a week, now that it’s warm, to keep up my color. (She has a great deal- purchase 4 tans, the 5th is free.) So if you are feeling a little on the pale side and want some color for your shoot, I would definitely think about making an appointment. 24-48 hours before your photo shoot is the perfect time to go. You don’t need to be super dark, but a nice glow is always great. If you mention Glamour Bitch when you book, Kathy will hook you up with a great discount!!

Just please, please, please stay out of tanning beds! If the idea of me yelling at you isn’t scary enough, please read this article.

Fingers and Toes

A good manicure and pedicure is a must for your photo shoot. Not only will it look great in the photos, it gives you a head start in the pampering prior to your shoot. I usually suggest either light pinks, reds, or if you are feeling a little bold, dark purple is one of my favorites.
